International Kite Festival 2011 in Ahmadabad - Gujarat Tourism Corporation of Gujarat has celebrated the International Kite Festival 2011 with wholesome participation from all over the globe at Sabarmati River Front from 9th Jan, 2011 to 12th Jan, 2011. International Kite Festival is held at Ahmadabad on January 14 every year, to coincide with the festival of Uttarayan or Makar Sankranti. In Gujarat, Maker Sankranti is celebrated as the kite-flying day. Uttarayan is a two-day festival in Gujarat and an International Kite Festival is held during the period in Ahmadabad. Kite flying enthusiasts from different parts of the world arrive at Ahmadabad to take part in the international competition.
